Each client is unique. Effective treatment begins with compassion, concern, and enthusiasm, but that is not enough. Dr. MacRoy emphasizes the process of completing a careful assessment with each client, and their family, if appropriate. This assessment leads to the development of attainable and mutually agreeable goals. During the course of treatment, these goals are monitored, and modified as needed. Dr. MacRoy approaches therapy with compassion, empathy and humor, working to put clients at ease so they feel comfortable sharing their concerns in a safe setting.
Dr. MacRoy strives to be accessible and responsive to clients and their health care professionals where appropriate. With the client’s consent, he can work with other health care professionals to facilitate referrals for additional treatment or medication management, He welcomes feedback from these collaborating professionals, since they can make significant contributions to patients’ health and well-being.
